Private Benny Barak

Benny was born in Tel-Aviv during the year of 1952. He graduated from elementary school in his home city, Givataim, and then proceeded to high-school in Tel-Aviv. Benny was very active in the Zionist Working Youth Movement (Ha Noaar Ha-Oved), he would spend whole days and nights in the movement’s homebase. Benny had a great love for nature, including field trips. He dreamt about leaving the city and moving to live in a Kibbutz. He was recruited to the IDF in 1971 and was sent together with a group of friends from the youth movement to Kibbutz Nir Eliyahu, as part of the Nachal (Pioneer Combatant Youth).

Benny was killed in battle on the 7th of October, 1973. He left behind his parents and a brother.
