Stories of Friendship and Heritage

Private Tzvi Brekersky
Son Judith and Yaakov
24/4/1953 - 7/10/1973

Tzvi was born in Kfar-Saba during the year of 1953. He graduated from elementary school and high-school in his home town. Tzvika (this was his nickname among family and friends) loved playing basketball, and was a very good player, thanks to his tall and athletic body. He didn’t find much interest in school, and spent much of his free time in basketball practices. Tzvika’s greatest dream, though, wasn’t to become a professional basketball player, but to become a Kibbutz member and be a part of a pioneer Zionist society. Not long before his military recruitment, his dream came through, and he joined a Kibbutz.

Tzvika was recruited to the IDF in November of 1971. During his military service he made many new friends. His peers remember him as a loyal friend with a great sense of humor

Tzvi was killed during the Tel-Saki rescue operation. He left behind his parents and a brother
